I came to tour Laney College during an enrollment event advertised on television and because they offered free tuition for the fall 2023 semester. After touring the campus, I found the campus fine for being an urban college. It is next to the Lake Merritt BART station, making commuting easier for its students — they even offered a free AC Transit pass of those enrolled half-time. I was amazed they even offered free meals and books to their students for fall.

I like colleges. I like em cuz Oakland is a blight ridden city and Laney is a breath of... Wilderness, country. It's quiet and you never have to worry about someone running you over when you take in the campus during a walk. 5 stars.

I have greatly enjoyed my experience in the Baking and Pastry program of Laney College. I have created desserts I have dreamed of making and perfecting. In my International Patisserie course, I got to learn a variety of classical desserts from all over the world. The chefs are amazing and guide you towards greatness. Often times I was presented with many job opportunities to grow in my culinary abilities. If baking is your passion, I urge you to join the baking and pastry program. You will be taught a variety of techniques and will be whipping up creations you never thought were possible.

I have greatly enjoyed my time at Laney College especially in the culinary program. I have made many friends here the instructors are great. We get tons of time cooking in kitchen and even get to sell our own creations in the Bistro. The Instructors are old school and care about the students. Next time your around downtown at lunch time check out the Bistro. And if your thinking of going to culinary school come here!!!

It was my first time attending an event at Laney College. I'm glad the event was the Oakland Roots Professional Soccer game. Parking around the college was pretty good. There were vendors and catering food trunks. A great family 👪 event for all ages. …

Laney college will always be Oaklanders family. How could it not when either you, a relative or someone you associate with rolled through there. 😃 I even graduated from Laney 30 years ago. And they are a part of the puzzle in my Journey through life that helped me to become a a Teacher. I will always be forever greatful!!! *Thank you JESUS for those Used Books, Bus Tickets, PELL GRANTS, BOG Grants Laney College New The Assignment and Handled There Bussiness!

I was a student and an employee in the past. Been there for 11 years. The campus was thriving. Laney used to have great instructors. I had a lot of fun working there at the time. Overtime, the administration and supervisors became corrupt and crooked. The quality of education went downhill. Low enrollment rate. I visited Laney recently to catch up with my former peers. Brought back positive memories. Laney isn't the same as it used to be. I hope improvements will come.
